Health and Wellness Minister, Dr Christopher Tufton, says Cabinet’s position is that the country’s health officials are to have further dialogue with the EOJ on whether COVID-19 positive persons should be allowed to vote in the upcoming General Election.
He was fielding questions at the COVID-19 emergency media briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister today.
The Health Minister expressed strong aversion to the idea of COVID-19 positive persons in isolation being able to vote.
Dr. Tufton says the patients should remain in isolation given the cantagious nature of the disease.
But, he says those in quarantine who have not been confirmed as COVID-19 positive cases should be allowed to vote.
