Health professionals attached to the St James Health Department are currently on their way to the Paradise Norwood community in St James to conduct COVID-19 house to house surveillance.
The health department’s move follows a confirmed case of the coronavirus in the community.
The person reportedly entered the country on June 12 and received the positive test result two days later.
It’s understood that a number of family members have since tested positive for COVID-19.
A senior health officer at the St James Health Department told Nationwide News that the team will be conducting community surveillance in that area, which will require visits from house to house to identify if there are persons who have been exposed or persons who are symptomatic.
