Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the government is looking for more strategic ways to build water infrastructures to withstand the impacts of severe weather events.
He was speaking at the handing over ceremony of seven water trucks supplied to the National Water Commission, NWC.
Prime Minister Holness highlighted the extensive flooding which occurred across several southern parishes Monday due to rains associated with Hurricane Ian.
Holness says Jamaicans continue to build houses in flood prone areas which put their own lives at risk.
He says serious policy changes will be considered in the coming years in the provision of utilities and housing to citizens.
