Prime Minister Andrew Holness has defended his government’s record in office, noting the country is in a far better place than it was under the Opposition People’s National Party, PNP.

Mr. Holness made the assertion while addressing party faithful at the South East Clarendon constituency conference held at Vere Technical yesterday.

It was the Prime Minister’s first political meeting of the year, as his party gears up for its 80th annual conference in November.

In a wide ranging presentation, Mr. Holness noted that by any measure, the JLP government has performed better than its Opposition counterpart.

Mr. Holness urged Labourites not to be distracted by what he says are lies about the government’s record of achievement.

He says despite multiple external shocks, the government has managed well.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister says his party has a record of providing quality increases to public sector workers.
