Chairman of the Gastronomy Network, Nicola Madden Greig says Jamaican food since 2021 has become one of the top three reasons why tourists are coming to the island.
She says before 2021 the top three reasons for coming to Jamaica was the weather, the island’s beaches and its people.
The Chairman of the Gastronomy Network was speaking this morning at the Tourism Awareness Week Knowledge Forum.
The Network has over the years been working to make Jamaica the culinary destination of choice.
Mrs. Madden Greig says their aim is to appeal to the culinary tourist.
She says many of the new visitors to Jamaica aren’t coming anymore for an all inclusive stay on the island.
She says going forward the Network plans to continue incorporating communities with unique culinary stories and offerings.
