The Jamaica Association for Private Security (JAPS) is calling on security guards to take part in a sickout today.

According to JAPS President, Teddylee Gray, the move to withdraw services was taken after the refusal of security companies to meet with the heads of JAPS.

Mr. Gray states that participation with the sickout across the island has been good.

According to Mr. Gray the industrial action will not end today.

Mr. Gray told our news centre that his organisation also intends to go to Gordon House to petition the relevant government officials in an effort to secure the best outcomes for the country’s security officers.

The JAPS President noted that the response from the labour ministry has been limited despite attempts at outreach.
