The Jamaican dollar continues its record slide, now passing the 141 to 1 US dollar mark for the first time ever.

It’s now lost nearly 5% of its value in the past five weeks.

The local currency lost another 89 cents against the US in yesterday’s trading, to open this morning selling at an average $141.10.

However, it gained 12-cents against the Canadian, to start today’s trading at $107.16.

The JMD gained 47-cents against the British Pound, to sell today at an average $178.59.
