The Jamaica Stock Exchange, JSE is urging members of the public and those in the financial sector not to open a fraudulent email that’s been circulating.
The subject of the email is JSE Notice.
The message claims there are accumulated dividends on an individuals portfolio which are available for collection.
It invites the customer to download and view an attached document for more details.
The JSE says it’s been advised that these attachments may contain malicious software.
The JSE says the emails did not originate from them, and they’re advising persons who’ve received the messages not to open them or run any program contained in the email.
Persons who have concerns about the authenticity of any email which purports to originate from the JSE, are being asked to contact the stock exchange.
