The St Lucia Kings crushed the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 49 runs in early Caribbean Premier League action today.

After being sent it to bat, the Kings piled up a challenging 189 for 7 from their 20 overs. Recalled West Indies batsman, Johnson Charles smashed 61 from 41 deliveries, with 6-fours and 3-sixes. He got good support from captain Faf du Plesis who cracked 41 from 21 balls.

Their were two wickets a piece for veteran Dwayne Bravo, Rashid Khan and Dwaine Pretorius.

In reply, the Patriots were bowled out for 140 in their 20 overs. Dewald Brevis top scored with 32. Bowling for the Kings, there were three wickets each for David Weise and Kesrick Williams.

With the win, the Kings move up to third on 6 points, while the Patriots slip to fourth also on 6 points.

In today’s other game, second place Jamaica Tallawahs will go up against fifth place Trinbago Knight Riders at 6:00 pm Jamaica time.
