The Chairman of the Government’s Economic Growth Council, Michael Lee Chin, is clarifying his 5-percent growth target.
Last week, Mr. Lee Chin had pledged that Jamaica would achieve 5-percent economic growth in four years.
Following the announcement, Opposition Spokesman on Finance, Dr. Peter Phillips said he would be disappointed if this represented aggregate growth of five percent over the four years… meaning the country would grow just over one percent each year.
But speaking at the Women’s Leadership Initiative in New Kingston yesterday, Mr. Lee Chin offered this clarification.

And Mr. Lee Chin says the Growth Council’s vision is to ensure all Jamaicans are able to access better opportunities and services.
