A suspect in a double murder this morning on Knowles Road in Manchester has been apprehended by the Police.

He has been held in relation to the murder of two women in the parish.

They’ve been identified as 29-year-old Shanika Dixon, a hairdresser and 35-year-old Ilara Mullings, a bartender of Lincoln Road in Mandeville.

The Police say one of the women was his girlfriend.

The man was held in a Police dragnet this morning.

After being alerted to the scene of the murder just before 2 o’clock, investigators worked quickly to identify the suspect and thereafter set up a roadblock along Williamsfield main road in the parish, where he was nabbed.

Head of the Jamaica Constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit, CCU, Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay told our news centre this morning that the murders resulted from a domestic dispute.
