Mark Golding Pledges to Give 80% of His New Salary to Charity

Opposition Leader, Mark Golding, has pledged to redirect 80% of the increase in his salary to persons in need and charitable causes.

Mr. Golding made the announcement as the Opposition PNP is calling for the government to reduce the size of the increases in salaries granted to politicians.

Under the new salary scales, Mr. Golding would earn a salary of $25 million annually.

Mr. Golding says the Prime Minister’s justification of seeking to attract better talent to politics with the significant salary increases is not persuasive.

He’s described the Prime Minister’s words as hollow.
