The Tourism Product Development Company Ltd, TPDCo, has withdrawn Rick’s Cafe’s Covid-19 compliance certification with immediate effect.

It says the withdrawal is due to the establishment’s breach of Covid-19 health and safety protocols.

Community Awareness Coordinator for TPDCo, Marline Stephenson Dalley says Rick’s Café will be required to undergo a re-certification exercise before it can be allowed to accept visitors again.

TPDCo says it’s assuring Jamaicans that the Agency takes the reports of breaches of these protocols and the Disaster Risk Management Act very seriously and that the appropriate sanctions will take full effect.

Meanwhile, Rick’s Cafe says it deeply regrets the breach in COVID-19 protocols at Mocha Fest yesterday adding that it sincerely apologizes for allowing it happen.

It explained that prior to entering the venue all visitors were temperature checked, hand sanitized and face masks were required upon entry.

It added that going forward it will redouble compliance training to ensure it does not happen again.
