Three other meets on the local track and field calendar have been postponed due to non-approval from the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

This bring to six the number of meets postponed for the 2021 season.

The latest postponed meets are the Fuller/Anderson JAAA Puma Development, the Douglas Forrest Invitational and the Manchester High/Charlie Fuller Field events meet, all of which were set for January 16.

In a statement, the organizers of the Fuller/Anderson JAAA Puma Development meet, say after consultations with the Ministry of Health and the Disaster and Risk Management Task Unit, they were advised that with the rising number of cases in the Island it would have been best that they postpone the meet.

They say they are very hopeful that they’ll be able to provide quality competition for the athletes soon but right now the health and safety of everyone is of paramount importance.

The JC/Pure Water/R Danny Williams, the First Chance and the Ted Dwyer Classic, which was set for last Saturday, were also called off last week.
