The Ministry of Tourism says most hotels that were open during the Heroes Weekend recorded over fifty per cent occupancy.

Tourism Minister, Edmund Bartlett, says the increase in occupancy levels over the holiday period is an indicator that the sector is recovering steadily from the impact of COVID-19 on the sector’s earnings.

Minister Bartlett notes that one hotel even had an oversubscription.

But, Minister Bartlett says overbooking should never be encouraged.

The Tourism Minister says all anti-COVID-19 protocols were observed at the hotels that were allowed to conduct business over the Heroes Weekend.
