Member of Parliament for East Rural St. Andrew, Juliet Holness, is demanding an apology be issued to former chairman of the HEART/NSTA Trust, Edward Gabbidon.

Mrs. Holness says the former chairman should also be returned to his post.

She made the demand while addressing Parliament’s Public Administration and Appropriations Committee, PAAC, yesterday.

Mr Gabbidon resigned recently after questions were raised about the relationship between a company he’s the Chief Executive Officer for and the HEART/ NSTA Trust.

At a sitting of the PAAC yesterday, Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, the Ministry under which HEART-NSTA fall, Audrey Sewell faced questions on the issue.

She explained that Mr Gabbidon had declared his affiliation with the company for which he was CEO.

She says the procurement rules make provision for cases where there is a conflict of interest or a perceived conflict of interest.
