Prime Minister Andrew Holness has admitted that the National Housing Trust, NHT, is not supplying enough affordable and low income units to the housing market. He says even if people have the income, there is still a shortage of units.
Mr. Holness says the government is considering a rent to own scheme for the housing market.
The Prime Minister has however sought to defend his introduction of the programme from those who he says are claiming that it was their idea.
Mr. Holness pointed to a 2016 study which he said contained the ideas.
