Communication and Customer Services Manager at the National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw, says persons have been exaggerating the impact of recent heavy rainfall on the country’s road network.
Several videos surfaced on social media on Wednesday showing sections of roadways damaged by the heavy rains.
Mr Shaw also says as a result of the downpour there was a massive landslide along the road leading from Golden Spring to Mount Airy in St. Andrew.
Mr. Shaw says the NWA and the National Water Commission NWC are working to fix a section of Washington Boulevard that collapsed on Wednesday.
However, he adds there will be a delay in the completion of the repair works because a fibre optic line belonging to telecoms company, Flow, was also damaged.
The NWA communications boss also gave a list of other roads that were damaged by the recent heavy rainfall.
