Two hundred and thirty-five new Covid-19 cases have been reported in the past 24 hours. They come from 2,446 samples tested.
The Ministry of Health also reported a positivity rate of just over 24 per cent in its latest update.
The total number of positive cases since the start of the pandemic stands at 139,918.
Majority of the new cases are from Kingston and St. Andrew with 65, St. Catherine follows with 52 and St. James at 51.
A single death has been recorded. More than 3,000 people in Jamaica have died of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.
There were 189 recoveries in the update. One hundred and forty-one people are hospitalised with Covid.
Thirty-nine are moderately ill, 11 are severely ill, while 4 are considered critical. Ninety-one per cent of those hospitalised are unvaccinated.
Just over 97-per cent of those who’ve died of Covid-19 were also unvaccinated.
