Outgoing Chairman of CARICOM, Timothy Harris , is urging it’s members to maintain its policy of non intervention and dialogue to resolve the crisis in Venezuela.
He says the crisis represents a threat to regional economic stability and national security.
Prime Minister Harris , was speaking yesterday at the opening of CARICOM’s 40th Heads of Government Conference in St. Lucia.
Venezuela is currently in the grips of a political and economic turmoil resulting in hundreds of thousands fleeing the Bolivarian Republic to neighboring countries.
He says CARICOM should maintain its position of honest broker in the region.
Prime Minister Harris says in a world where multi-lateralism is being undermined the regional bloc must adhere to its principles.
