Over 150 people have been killed in confrontations with the security forces over the first six months of 2026.
That’s according to the latest report from the Independent Commission of Investigations, INDECOM.
It says between January 1 and July 2, 159 people were killed in fatal encounters with the security forces.
The figure is six fewer than the 165 killed in the corresponding period in 2025.
Since the start of July, no fatal shootings have been recorded.
INDECOM says 66 police personnel have been charged following investigations into fatal shootings between 2024 and 2026.
