Government Senator, Pearnel Charles Junior, has bid farewell to the Upper House ahead of today’s nomination for the South East Clarendon by-election.
Senator Charles told the Senate yesterday that its conduct is worthy of the title of Upper House.
The Deputy Leader of Government Business in the Senate thanked Prime Minister Holness for the honour of allowing him to serve in the Upper House.
He says during his tenure, the Senate has shown a spirit of co- operation and respectfulness on both sides.
And, he made a tongue in cheek comment about the crossing of the floor of Councilor for the Trafalgar Division, Kari Douglas, in the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation.
The former PNP Councillor’s move yesterday means the governing JLP has increased its majority in the influential KSAMC to four.
