As investigators islandwide continue their heightened focus on solving crimes, several suspects implicated in other major crimes have been formally charged since the start of the week.

Over in Westmoreland detectives have charged 25-year-old Ralston Griffiths of Ricketts Street, Savanna-la-mar, Westmoreland.

He has been charged for the March 9, 2019 murder of 68-year-old Gladstone Clarke, a businessman of Deans Valley Housing Scheme, Petersfield in the parish and the injuring of a woman. 

Reports from the Westmoreland Police are that on March 9 at about 8:55 in the morning, Mr. Clarke arrived at his business place on Chantilly Road in Savanna-la-mar. 

He was in the process of opening his business place when he was reportedly pounced upon by the accused who immediately opened gunfire hitting him multiple times to his upper body. 

An employee of Mr. Clarke who was close by was also shot and injured. 

Griffiths allegedly stole Clarke’s licensed firearm loaded with an undetermined number of rounds and his cell phone.

Griffiths was formally charged yesterday with Murder, Wounding with Intent and Robbery with Aggravation.  

In Kingston, two men were charged for two separate incidents which occurred in the vicinity of ‘Parade’ in downtown, Kingston. 

Clive Shard was charged for Wounding with Intent after he stabbed a man resulting in him been hospitalised for five days. 

While Shane Pryce of Pink Lane in Kingston was charged with Robbery with Aggravation after he robbed a man of his gold necklace. 

Pryce was chased and held by a plainclothes police officer.

In Manchester, the Police continue to reap success in cases of larceny and illegal possession of firearms during the month of August. 

24-year-old Stivaano Broen and 30-year-old Anthony Discon were arrested and charged for Shop Breaking and Larceny. 

Both men are security guards who reside in Mandeville and were accused of unlawfully gaining access to a business place on Ward Avenue Mandeville where they reportedly stole goods and cash.
