Nationwide News understands that a major Police operation is currently underway and has so far resulted in the arrest of at least eight persons who are suspected to be major players in the deadly lottery scam.

It’s understood that arrest warrants were issued for the eight suspects a few weeks ago. Our sources say some of the persons detained are facing extradition to the United States.

The operation is being led by Assistant Commissioner, Devon Watkis. It’s understood that the Police are targeting at least 15-persons in Kingston, Trelawny and St. James.

When contacted this morning, Head of the Police Corporate Communication Unit, Inspector Dahlia Garrick confirmed that intelligence from Jamaica’s international partners has assisted the local Police with today’s operation.
