Commanding Officer for the Westmoreland Police Division, Senior Superintendent Wayne Josephs, is warning persons who are keeping parties without the permission of the police, that they will now feel the full force of the law.

His warning follows an unauthorised party in the parish yesterday at which seven persons were shot, one fatally.

He says in deciding when to grant permits, the police will take into account the antecedents of the applicant.

SSP Josephs also had a warning for sound system operators.

Meanwhile, in the incident yesterday morning, one person was shot dead and six others wounded at the party in Bridgewater, Westmoreland.

The deceased has been identified as 38 year old Lashlaroo Shaw otherwise know as ‘Peh’, ‘Worm’ or ‘Lenky’ of Belfont in St James.

SSP Josephs says persons were in the process of cleaning up from the party the night before when a white Toyota Axio motor car drove up.
