Head of the St. Ann Police Division, Senior Superintendent Dwight Powell, says the vendor who sold the sweets laced with cannabis, to students at Ocho Rios Primary School, had visited the facility for the first time.
Dozens of students from the institution were rushed to the St. Ann’s Bay Regional hospital on Monday, after reportedly consuming the candy.
SSP Powell says a team of detectives has been assigned to investigate the incident.
He’s urging the male vendor to surrender himself to the Police.
