The Constabulary is mourning the loss of another colleague who was shot dead by unknown assailants along Berwick Road, Darling Street in Kingston this morning.

The Police High Command has condemned the killing of 30 year old District Constable Ricardo Jarrett who was assigned to the Darling Street Police Station in Kingston.

Police reports say 3:00 this morning, District Constable Jarrett was allegedly dropping off a female, when he was pounced upon by several armed men and shot; his firearm was also stolen.

He was assisted to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The High Command says its also expressing condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of the slain District Constable.

The JCF’s Chaplaincy Branch and Welfare Department is providing support to the family members, colleagues and friends of District Constable Jarrett.
