Chief executive officer at Cricket West Indies, Chris Dehring, says plans are in place to organise a tournament to fine-tune preparations for major upcoming assignments.
This after the men’s super 50 tournament and Women’s T20 Blaze are cancelled for the 2026 season.
Dehring added that Cricket West Indies has its sights set on the 2027 Pan American Games and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
In June of this year, the PanAm Sports executive board confirmed that cricket was officially included in the list of 36 sports to be played next year.
Dehring says the thought process behind selecting the regional teams that will participate in the PanAm Games.

The top four finishers from last year’s super 50 tournament were: Trinidad, Barbados, Windward Islands and Guyana.
Jamaica finished fifth, while Leeward Islands finished sixth.
