Heimir Hallgrímsson who will tomorrow be officially unveiled as national senior football team head coach, arrived in the island yesterday to meet with the local football Hierarchy.
Hallgrímsson who is a dentist by profession, led Iceland to the World Cup in Russia in 2018 and will replace Paul Hall at the helm of the country’s football
Hallgrímsson will take his own back room staff with him to include a fitness trainer, and assistant coach and a goalkeeper coach.
His first game in charge of Jamaica will come on September 27 when the Reggaeboyz battle two time world champions Argentina with Lionel Messi in an international friendly in New Jersey.
