The president of the JLP affiliate, Generation 2000, Matthew Samuda, is calling for a review of the amount allocated to education in the national budget for the next financial year.
Mr. Samuda — who took over the presidency on the weekend — says cutting the education budget by $2.5 billion dollars is a mistake.
Mr. Samuda is also expressing concern about plans by the government to tie the provision of student loans to an applicant’s grade point average.
