Nationwide News understands that former North West Clarendon Member of Parliament, Richard Azan, has been nominated to be one of four PNP Vice Presidents.

Azan was duly nominated this morning.

Mr. Azan’s nomination came ahead of the deadline for the submission of nomination papers which was noon today.

Azan had supported Mark Golding in the November 2020 PNP Presidential contest where Golding defeated Lisa Hanna.

The other Vice Presidential nominees are – Ian Hayles, Norman Scott and Eugene Kelly.

As things currently stand, Hayles, Scott, Kelly and Azan are set to be elected unopposed at the PNP’s annual conference in September.

The PNP was rocked by news this morning that Phillip Paulwell, Mikael Phillips, Damion Crawford and Dr. Wykeham McNeil, have resigned as Vice Presidents of the party.

The resignation comes as the former second tier leadership of the PNP have moved to revolt against Mark Golding’s leadership of the 82-year old political movement.
