President and CEO of the Jamaica Public Service Company, JPS, Kelly Tomblin, says 4,000 homes remain without power due to yesterday’s heavy rain.

Flooding and lightning yesterday knocked out power for approximately 6,000 people in Kingston, St. Thomas, St. Catherine, St. Ann, St. Mary, St. James, Clarendon, and Manchester.

Miss Tomblin says power should be back up in most areas by mid-day today.

However, she says it may take additional time to restore power to certain parts of St. Thomas due to continued flooding.
