Prime Minister Andrew Holness is chiding those who have questioned the benefits of the Government’s move to abolish auxiliary fees at high schools.

Mr. Holness was delivering his contribution to the Budget Debate yesterday.

The Government intends to remove auxiliary fees come September by increasing the subvention per student provided by the Ministry to the schools.

Mr. Holness says the policy’s success can already be assessed based on the removal of tuition fees from schools during the last JLP administration led by Bruce Golding.

Mr. Holness was Minister of Education at the time.
