Some two thousand security guards employed to local firm, Securipro Limited, are this morning pleading for answers about when they will receive payments for work done this month.
The officers say they were expecting to be paid last Friday.
However, they say the company’s management told them at the weekend there were some technical glitches with the banking system used to pay the staff.
The security guards say the company’s management promised the monies would be in their accounts by Tuesday.
One of the guards spoke with Nationwide News on condition of anonymity.
She says the situation has forced many of the guards to endure extra hours of work as those who are to relieve them have not turned up for duties.
When our News Centre contacted the company today an administrative officer admitted the company has been receiving several calls about payment from the workers.
But she was unable to explain what was causing the delay.
Calls placed to the company’s principals John and Winston Barnes, have gone unanswered.
