Jamaica’s 2005 Helsinki World Triple Jump Champion Trecia-kay Smith who is now a medical practitioner working on the frontline in New York, says it is an extremely challenging undertaking.
Smith created history in the Finnish Capital when she lept 15.11m in the women’s triple jump final to become the first Jamaican to win a field event gold at the world championships.
Smith who also won Commonwealth Games gold in 2006 and 2010, says because of what she has experienced in New York she is urging Jamaicans to practice social distancing and to adhere to the protocols.
