Minister of Science, Energy and Technology, Fayval Williams has disclosed that there’s a high likelihood of more competition in the telecommunications sector within the next 12-months.

She made the disclosure while speaking on Nationwide this morning with Kalilah Reynolds and Abka Fitz-Henley.

Fayval Williams,  Minister of Science, Energy and Technology.

The Minister’s disclosure comes against the background of fresh complaints about the service being provided to customers across the island.

In May the Opposition People’s National Party also called for new competition in the telecommunications market.

The calls from the Opposition came when many persons and children were staying at home under the anti-COVID-19 orders.

This resulted in increased demand during the day time, but many complained about poor service.
