Prime Minister Andrew Holness says the Spanish Town Road pipeline improvement project is expected to deliver some 15 million gallons of water to communities in Kingston and St. Andrew.

The prime minister toured the ongoing infrastructure works on Spanish Town Road this afternoon.

Holness says some three years go, water supply to the surrounding communities was disrupted due to a break in the transmission main.

He says the government decided at the time measures must be taken to restore supply to the residents.

This includes the pipeline improvement project currently underway.

Holness says once the project is completed, it will serve communities in the corporate area for the next 50 years and beyond.
