Minister of Sports, Olivia Grange, admits that the unauthorised training camp hosted by the Jamaica Football Federation, JFF, at the Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence is the main cause for the delayed start of the Jamaica Premier League.

The government have been clear with their announcement that they are willing to resume sports and that all sporting disciplines should submit an application.

However they warned that every event will be processed on a case by case basis.

Minister Grange says after a meeting with the JFF and the Professional Football Jamaica Limited, PFJL, they have worked out an agreement that will allow for training to resume.

She says football is on the right path to resumption.

Meanwhile, Minister Grange sought to outline the process by which sporting events are considered for approval, despite the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic.
