Director General of the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, ODPEM, Major Clive Davis, says state agencies here are prepared to respond if the country’s affected by hurricanes now in the Atlantic.
The Met Service says Jamaica could start getting periodic showers as early as tomorrow as the country’s projected to start feeling the outer bands of Hurricane Irma.
Mr. Davis says ODPEM has been monitoring the system over the past two weeks.
He says the agency has a responsibility to be in a state of perpetual preparedness.
