The taxi operator who was caught on video beating another colleague in Mandeville has been remanded, following an appearance before the Manchester Parish Court.
Nackland Scott was charged on Monday for attempted murder after he bludgeoned another colleague on Thursday, July 29.
He’s being represented by attorney Norman Godfrey and is set to return to court on Monday, September 6.
Scott was also ordered to undergo psychiatric evaluation.
The Prosecution noted that the complainant remains in serious but stable condition and will require specialist treatment outside of the hospital.
The Prosecution further objected to a bail application for Scott, as he was earlier charged with unlawful wounding when he attacked an elderly passenger over taxi fare.
It’s reported that Mr. Scott and the complainant, who were both parked on Caledonia Road, had a dispute over a passenger.
Scott started hitting the complainant multiple times with a piece of wood after the dispute escalated.
He then proceeded to run the complainant over with his car.
The complainant reportedly suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to hospital.
