A taxi operator is in Police custody after he engaged a policeman in a physical altercation in May Pen, Clarendon this morning.

A video of the incident is being circulated on social media.

It shows the Policeman attempting to restrain the taxi operator, before he was tripped to the ground.

In the video, the Police officer is also seen pulling his service gun from its holster and pointing it at the taxi man.

That’s where the 15-second video ended.

When our News Centre contacted Crime Officer at the Clarendon Police, Superintendent Chris Phillips, he confirmed the incident.

He says the Police were working to ascertain the details.

But he also confirmed that the taximan is now in Police custody.

A voicenote has also been circulating on social media, purporting to be a taximan who also engaged the same policeman recently.
