Nutten nuh guh so!

That’s how the President of one of the Transport Associations is reacting to the Transport Authority’s report that public passenger vehicle, PPV, operators are overcharging commuters.

In a statement, the Transport Authority says since the beginning of 2022, it has received several complaints.

But President of the Transport Operator Development Sustainable Services, TODSS, Egeton Newman, says the entity condemns the practice.

He says there are some misunderstandings about the Hackney Carriage operators and how much they are to charge following the recent fare increase.

Mr Newman says while the operators are facing difficulties, they should do what he calls the right thing.

In the meantime, Mr Newman says he’s now ready to work with the new Transport Minister, Audley Shaw.

Mr Newman was among several Transport group heads who expressed outrage when former Minister Robert Montague was replaced.
