The police say two men were taken into custody yesterday in relation to the seizure of a firearm and several rounds of ammunition in Red Dirt, Flanker, St. James.

Reports from the Coral Gardens Police are that about 1:20 p.m., they were on patrol when they accosted two men who aroused their suspicion.

The men were reportedly searched.

The firearm, a Taurus 9 millimeter Pistol, with a magazine containing twelve 9 millimeter rounds of ammunition — was found in a knapsack one of the men was carrying.

The police say they were subsequently arrested.

The identities of the men are being withheld while investigations continue.
