Cabinet Minister Daryl Vaz, says he’s not aggrieved by the Prime Minister’s decision to re-assign him from the Environment portfolio to that of Water and Housing.

The Office of the Prime Minister announced the changes in a statement yesterday.

It says Mr Vaz, who’s a Minister without portfolio, will assume responsibility for the Water and Housing Portfolios and subject matters having to do with certain special economic development projects.

It also says the newly appointed Minister without Portfolio, Leslie Campbell, has been assigned to the Land, Environment and Climate Change portfolio.

The move comes a week after Mr Vaz withdrew his application to lease lands in a protected area of Hollywell, St. Andrew.

Mr Vaz had said his decision followed concerns and objections raised by the Jamaica Conservation and Development Trust, JCDT.

He says he takes no issue with the Prime Minister’s re-assignment.

He says he’s confident he did nothing wrong in seeking to buy the lands.

Mr Vaz was also asked if he would try to acquire the lands now that he’s no longer Minister responsible for Environment.
