Mayor of Port Maria, Richard Creary, says a vehicle carrying care packages for residents under quarantine was hijacked last evening.

The mayor was unable to say how many of the items were stolen.

But, he says the police are investigating.

The theft comes amid several disgruntled residents now under quarantine who’ve complained about not receiving the much needed supplies.

Mayor Creary says packages have been distributed since last Friday and he believes all affected residents should receive the items by the end of today.
