People’s National Party, PNP, caretaker for St Andrew Eastern, Venesha Phillips, says she intends to ensure the party’s National Executive Council addresses allegations of vote-buying in the just-concluded internal Presidential race.

Ms. Phillips says the allegations cannot simply be brushed aside.

She says vote-buying is more than exchanging money for someone’s vote.

Meanwhile, President of the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions, Helene Davis-Whyte, says the allegations of vote buying in the PNP have severe implications for Jamaica’s democracy.
