Gender Minister Olivia Grange says the wanton violence against women and girls must end.
She says the society must protect and provide redress for victims.
The Minister also asked for prayers for an elderly woman who’s hospitalized in serious condition after her spouse attempted to murder her before committing suicide last Thursday.
Minister Grange was speaking at a policy meeting on Masculinity in the Caribbean at the UWI, Mona headquarters in Kingston on Friday.
Minister Grange says domestic violence remains a cause for concern.
She’s inviting prayer and support for the victims.
But she insists the vicious cycle has gone on for too long.
She says domestic violence requires intervention.
