That’s the appeal from Prime Minister Andrew Holness to those young people currently without a skill.

The Prime Minister was speaking in Clarendon at the opening of the May Pen to Williamsfield leg of the Southern Coastal Highway.

Tauna Thomas reports:

According to Prime Minister Holness, Jamaica’s record low unemployment rate of 4.5% is a good thing.

He says his administration faces a particular challenge of encouraging even more people, especially those without adequate skills, to join the labour force.

He says this reality influenced the policy directive at the HEART/NSTA Trust, where by the institution is now offering all courses up to the associate degree level, free of charge.

Mr. Holness says the country must continue to create more jobs to boost economic growth.
