General manager of Professional Football Jamaica Limited, Arlene Martin, says they continue to wait on the government to give them the green light for the start of the country’s top league.

The country’s footballers have been out of work since March 2020, when the government ordered a lockdown of all sporting facilities to help with the control of the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Martin says they are adding a venue verification report to their application.

She says the association is working overtime to secure the approval.

The Aquatic Sports Association of Jamaica recently got approval to host a series of time trials, but while these are encouraging signs, Martin says their hopes rest on the comprehensive application they submitted to the government.
