Six gangsters were cut down by members of the Jamaica Defence Force, during a targeted operation in the crime plagued community of Effortville, Clarendon early yesterday morning.

They’re suspected to be members of the Clarendon-based Bushman Gang, linked to several serious crimes in the parish.

Among the gangsters are two wanted by the Police for murders.

They are Leon Rose also called Hitler and Zemmar Nelson also called Terminator Boy, both of Effortville.

In a statement, the JDF says the six men engaged the soldiers and were fatally shot.

According to the JDF, a military team operating in the Clarendon State of Emergency was deployed to Buzz Rock, Effortville to conduct a targeted operation on a premises in the area.

The JDF says the incident happened shortly after midnight.

It says the JDF team came in contact with several men who fired on them.

It says an M16, an AK47 assault rifle, a shotgun, three magazines and sixty assorted rounds, were found.

It says one soldier was also injured during the incident and another narrowly escaped death when a round hit his ballistic helmet.
